First Days

The first day of school. The first day at work. The first day at a new home.

First days can be terribly exciting... and yet daunting at the same time. First days usually bring with them a wave of changes to one's life experiences.

And so it was, on the First Day of filming in NYC on June 21st for the Before The Door-produced indie movie "Margin Call" that Zachary Quinto tweeted he was too excited to even sleep.

The set call started real early at 5 am and when the first shot began, Zach sent us all a cute pic of himself sitting on a stoop with that much-needed cup of coffee. (Although, I was really distracted by those biceps...yep, I can't help it. :D )

Indie The Way To Go?

Have you noticed that in recent years, some choice indie films have gained a lot of ground in terms of popularity compared to the big-studios so-called "blockbuster hits"??

I am quite an ardent fan of the indie film, as the big-studio screen-splashes seem to use a set formula that one can expect before even stepping into the cinema. I still do enjoy some big-studio offerings - like Iron Man or the Harry Potter  films. However, good indie films tend to reach my inner-soul deeper, with topics which are more personal and realistic. Or the storylines are just plain quirky; or are an utterly disturbing but pleasurable mindwarp. Added to this mix are often charming performances by well-known as well as lesser-known or unknown actors, where they seem free-er to be more "out-of-the-box".  And I'm Sold. :)

East Side, West Side

Do not underestimate the power of a furry friend who misses you... and misses you BADLY.

Four-legged DQMF Noah Quinto (Random thought: does it mean dogs have four biceps?) must have probably whined - er - I mean, demanded - Zachary Quinto's presence back home in LA.

For our Zach flew back from East Coast to West Coast last weekend to be promptly and heartwarmingly reunited with his furry housemate. He tweeted:

"first noah hugs in 89 days. but who's counting? may we never have to wait so long again."

Just look at those two. Can anybody just *not* go Awwwwwww....??
.I.Dare.You.

A day or so later, in the early morning, Zach was zooming back to the East Coast again to continue filming "Margin Call".

The movie, produced by the lovely Before The Door boyz and written/ directed by J.C. Chandor, is currently being filmed in NYC.

More news have trickled in and it is to my delight that two more man-wiches - Simon Baker and Paul Bettany - are in negotiations to join the cast of "Margin Call". How delicious can that be??! (Source: The Hollywood Reporter)

I really can't wait for this indie film now!!

PS: With all this flying coast to coast, what are the bets that Zachary Quinto will actually make it for SDCC??

Remember The Time...

(sings) Do you remember..... when we ...

*ahem* Pardon me for the Michael Jackson interlude there. As this year's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) draws nearer, I have been reminiscing a bit lately on my previous convention-partying days. Lots of Good Times - with Fabulous Peeps. :D I will not regret any of the time and money spent for those very memorable adventures.

While having retro-thoughts, I am certain there are times when one remembers embarassing moments - especially those involving what-you-used-to-think-was-cool hairstyles or clothes.

Happy Happy Birthday, Zach!!

Let's all wave our biceps and hands, or blow kisses, if you may, to the handsome birthday boy, Zachary Quinto!

Based on his latest pics-tweets yesterday, bb is still in NYC.

I hope he has a fun and happy birthday time with his friends and family!

If you want to leave him some greetings, there is a Zach birthday tumblr going on here!! Go drop a message there!

BTW, have you seen this really cool Star Trek USS Enterprise bridge cake? CLICK HERE for the short article. See Spock there? Too cute, ain't it!

If you are hungry about some "Heroes" news despite it's cancellation, apparently negotiations are still going up concerning the "TV movie-style" wrap-up for the series, which should appease the die-hard fans out there to a certain degree.

Tim King has this to say about the wrap-up on TV Guide.com. Guess the fat lady could probably still whistle?
