Another Side of our Charity Mage

Here’s the second instalment of our special SArmy/ZArmy Charity Mage interview!

There has gotta be a fun side of Mabes that many of us yet to really know. So a few of us bravely posed Mabes the really TOUGH questions …

And here are her very interesting answers!

  • Part 2 – Fun and personal questions:

  • Who is your favorite musical artist? (from @ThePumpkinGeek)

I absolutely love Josh Homme, the lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures. I think he’s amazing. Besides that, I’ve been a fan of Deftones and Incubus since high school. I also really like A Perfect Circle and Muse.

What about your favorite movie? (from @ThePumpkinGeek)

Fight Club and Saving Private Ryan are tied for my favorite!

You seem very excited about the coming San Diego Comic Con. What are you looking forward to do most when you are there? (from @calowder)

I’m extremely excited! The main reason I go is to see my friends and meet new people. Comic Con has allowed me to come face to face with folks I’ve gotten to know for about five years since the creation of Sarmy. They’re all amazing, and I’m fortunate to have them in my life. Also – it’s nice to get out of Maine and go some place with different weather and a slightly different culture!

And what is your favorite memory of past Comic Con experiences? (from @calowder)

My favorite memory has to be two summers ago when a group of us camped out all night to be first in line for the Heroes panel. It was so much fun! We chatted and played games to pass the time. Last summer we got a big group together and had a nice dinner one evening. It was really special, too.

How did you get involved with web design, photography and writing? (from @Sheindie)

It’s in my blood! Both my mom and my older brother Jonathan love web design and photography, so I grew up around that sort of creativity. My brother also loves to write. He’s written a couple of plays – nothing professional or too serious, since we McBees are silly people. But I certainly looked up to him growing up, and I think he had that effect on me.

Will anyone of these lead to a career path? (from @Sheindie)

I would love for that to happen, but so far not much has come up for me in those areas. Hopefully in the future my passions will lead to solid job opportunities.

The question that has been asked around often these days - and we thought we'd ask you too! So tell us .... What does Zach really smell like? ;) (from @beckyb731)

I honestly don’t remember! He doesn’t smell bad, that’s for sure.

You have to save the world by marrying one superhero. Who would you choose? (Sylar is not one of the choices! :p ) (from @syzzlyn)

Does Peter Petrelli count? I would marry him in a heartbeat! If not, then I think I’d go for Batman. The Val Kilmer version.

If you were cooking your favorite actor a meal, what would it be? (from @chrisdallman)

I have a confession to make: I can't cook. Don't get me wrong, I wish I had the skill! I love watching Food Network and getting ideas. But when I try them out, nothing good happens. So, either I'd have to trick them and order something to make it look like I cooked, or they'd get to enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches. Maybe I'd even heat up some tomato soup to go with the grilled cheese. I think I could handle that!

Why haven't you been to Antarctica? (from @LanceMazmanian)

My family has been talking about taking a cruise there, but I've never been, mainly because I can't afford it. I'd love to go someday!

Chili: Beans or no beans? (from @LanceMazmanian)

You have to have beans in there! I was born in Texas and visit there often, but I was raised in Maine. The difference between Chili styles that I've tried is extreme, however, in both cases I say the beans are a must. They add texture!

If you could be Godzilla for a day, which city on Earth would you chose to destroy? (from @NatchanFoto)

I think I’d go after some cities in Canada if I could. Canadians scare me.

(@syzzlyn's note to Canadians: What did you guiizzzz doooo to Mabes??! lol ;) )

I then asked Mabes if she wanted to put her thanks out to anyone publicly and this is what she said:

“Thank you for interviewing me! I’m honored to even be asked these questions. The SArmy came from a very fun, passionate group of people, and I want to make sure that it carries on even as the show comes to an end.

There are a handful of people who have been there with me from the start and I can’t thank them enough for all the support they continue to give me. Running a fan-group of this magnitude is not an easy task, but with them, and all of the friends I’ve made along the way, I know we can do it!

There is a quote that says ‘Individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean.’ Many of us have big hearts, and I’m positive that we can make some waves in this world.”

And thank you, Mabes - for inspiring many of us to open our hearts more to those in need, and to start investing our available time/ resources for charity!

Don’t forget to join in the SArmy/ ZArmy online giveaway and win yourself some very interesting prizes - including your very own 8-inches of Sylar! Erm.. I mean .. an 8-inch everlasting Sylar pumpkin carved by one of my favourite artisans, @ThePumpkinGeek!

@syzzlyn personally thanks Christopher and Lance for joining in the fun! :)
