Going Crazy for 2nd Season of "American Horror Story"

Just when you were thought you might be safe away from the Murder House of FX's stellar hit series "American Horror Story", here comes a second season of more bloody madness.

And I do mean that literally.

The series creators' Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk has just recently announced that Season 2 will be set in an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane, in its own timeline, but with familiar faces playing markedly different characters. Familiar faces like Jessica Lange (who was absolutely fabulous hamming it up as Constance Langdon in Season 1), Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and our favourite bb of snark, Zachary Quinto.

Before Season 2's premise was revealed, my friends and I had been wondering how the writers were going to do a credible follow-up after all that had transgressed in Season 1. Almost all of the characters were killed off systematically, one by one, leaving two of the most evil. With news that the next season's horrors will be taking place at a different locale brings up even more questions. Why all the same faces? Will the characters in Season 2 have something to do with the personalities in the previous season? Is there a primary evil driving the turn of events in both seasons?

Count me intrigued.

In terms of casting news, Jessica Lange has now been promoted to a lead character who is in-charge of the mental institution, and Zach Quinto's role has been amped up as "one of two male leads" and Jessica Lange's nemesis. I am drooling at the thought of Zach acting all bad and sexy again.

And is the other male lead, Adam Levine? You know, Adam? That tall lean sexy thing with a penchant of being kinda nude with a supermodel girlfriend hanging on his arm? The Adam from pop band Maroon 5 and currently, one of the judges of "The Voice"?

Yes. Indeed it is! Levine has already confirmed his AHS appearance as one of "the Lovers" with E! News recently. I am hoping this means that there he will be appearing shirtless as many times as Dylan McDermott was shirtless and butt naked in Season 1.

I have not yet been able to grasp the fact that those Quinto-Levine biceps will be sharing the same scenes on my TV screen. *mega-swoon* In all honesty, I don't think I will be able to get over the fact even after Season 2 has ended. This must be one of the most evil things concocted by the series' creators to slay poor hapless AHS viewers, like me.

One of the hallmarks of AHS' Season 1 was the creepy sex routine. Hello, Rubber Suit! Well, not to worry. I don't think the fetish factor will be toned down any time soon in the next season. Mainly because there will be a character called "Shelly the Nymphomaniac" - who will be played by Chloe Sevigny. Shelly, it seems, will be going head to head with Jessica Lange's alter-ego. And you know how wonderful Jessica Lange's screen presence can be in a b*tch fight. Wooo!

Production for AHS will not begin till the summer. Currently, Zach's biceps are really busy doing the LLAP for JJ Abrams' "Star Trek 2". And from what I heard, there are still two more weeks left for the actors on the Trek 2 set. He did seem eager to get back into AHS mode though. For I've also heard whisperings, that he has said that Season 2 of AHS is "going to be wild".

Ugh. Can October 2012 come any sooner?

Between SDCC 2012 and having Zach's biceps regularly on my screen again, one can just go crazy simply waiting!
